"I had an anaesthetics registrar come to me wanting to set up an app/page with drug calculators for foundation doctors. is it possible to incorporate this in to our site?"
Drug calculators can be great and have a lot of scope to be safer than doing the calculation on paper, and much quicker. However they do also bring some risks as errors or misapplication could result in prescribing errors. And due to the small but significant risks, we ask you to not upload them to this site.
If you are embarking on this I would encourage you to discuss it with the patient safety lead at your hospital, and also get a pharmacist involved in the project. Its important to also consider that they could be considered a 'medical device’, and therefore subject from regulation from within your hospital and other agencies.
